Happy Tails - Homeless dogs flown to SA

TWELVE of Sydney's homeless jetted in with Qantas today and from now on, they'll be begging for fritz, not devon.

Three greyhounds who've done their dash and some maltese, poodle and chihuahua crosses, scored free flights to Adelaide, where they were received by the RSPCA.

The dogs will stay at the society's Lonsdale shelter until new homes are found.

Spokeswoman Aimee McKay said it was the first time the RSPCA had shipped homeless dogs between states.

"We've got lots of empty kennels and a 100 per cent re-homing rate," she said.

"We're very confident, after all they've been through, these doggie drifters will finally be able to call Adelaide home."
